Ayurvedic Massage

A lady is having an Ayurvedic Massage massage in Clout Twelve beauty Spa in London

Ayurveda, or ‘the science of life’ in Sanskrit is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. It originated over 5,000 years ago in India and is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

In Ayurveda, the five elements that are found in all living things – ether, air, fire, water, and earth – are the building blocks of life. Whilst this foundation unites all humans, the manifestation of those elements through three ‘qualities’ or doshas – Vata, Pitta, Kapha – is what gives rise to our differences. How the doshas appear, and in what proportion, is what makes each of us unique. The balance of the doshas in each person is believed to promote health and wellbeing, while imbalance leads to ill health and disease. This can be corrected with diet, herbal remedies, meditation and breathing exercises, as well as healing massage techniques that use dosha-specific herbs and oils to address the imbalance.

Abhyanga Massage

Rejuvenate body and mind. Abhyanga is an ancient Ayurvedic massage, which calms the nervous system, soothes and rejuvenates muscles, as well as promoting healthy circulation throughout the body. Tailored according to your needs using a beautiful blend of dosha-specific oils, otherwise known as sneha in Sanskrit (which also means love), this extraordinarily rejuvenating practice will promote deep relaxation for both body and mind, enhancing your overall equilibrium while nourishing your skin from head to toe.

Best for: relaxing and detoxifying body and mind, relieving fatigue and stress.

Padabhyanga Massage

Give tired limbs a new lease of life. This lower leg and foot massage is designed to relax, revitalise and reconnect through Padabhyanga, an ayurvedic alternative to reflexology. Combining deeply therapeutic techniques to release energy blockages, improve circulation and restore tired calf muscles, the soles of the feet are cleansed and nourished using Tri-Dosha products, helping to re-energise the body.

Best for: jet lag, improving circulation, mums to be and stress relief.

30 mins - £75

Unwind your body and mind. Warm blended Tri-Dosha oil is gently poured in a slow, rhythmic movement over the forehead marma point, also known as the third eye. Profoundly relaxing, this treatment works to switch off busy minds and induce deep rest, renewed energy and a calm state of mind that borders meditation. We recommend this treatment as an add-on to a scrub, foot or body massage.

Best for: relaxation, insomnia, headaches, damaged hair, tension, stress, chronic colds and imbalance.

30 mins - £75

Pinda Sweda

The remedy for aching muscles and a lack of energy. In this traditional Ayurvedic treatment, medicinal herbal powders are tied into a muslin cloth and used as a compress to massage warm oil into the body. Nurturing and rejuvenating, this treatment is excellent for sore muscles and aching joints, as well as arthritic conditions and some skin issues. You’ll leave feeling re-energised, with circulation and mobility improved.

Best for: muscular tension, poor circulation and detoxification.
