Acupuncture & Reflexology

Acupuncture needles with chinese herbal oils

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a multi-faceted system of healing encompassing Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise and dietary therapy. This sophisticated form of healing, which has evolved over thousands of years, is based on fundamental concepts including

Yin and Yang

Ying and Yang is a philosophy that describes the universe and everything in it, including our bodies, in terms of two opposing forces, perpetually aiming for balance.

The Five Elements

Wood, fire, earth, metal and water, relating elements of the natural world with other core components of our lives such as the seasons, our emotions, tastes, and parts of the body.

In TCM, it is believed that nature has an effect upon health and that it is important to find and maintain equilibrium to preserve good health. Overall, an imbalance (deficiency or excess) in yin and/or yang leads to ill health. Finding patterns of this imbalance, instead of focusing on the disease, leads the practitioner to a diagnosis; along with reading the pulse and tongue.

Energy within our bodies called ‘qi’ flows along specific channels or ‘meridians’ and this constant flow of vital energy keeps the yin and yang forces balanced, as they are manifestations of qi. It is this proper flow of energy that an acupuncturist aims to establish; ultimately improving the body’s functions and encouraging self-healing. To achieve this, very fine, flexible needles are placed and gently manipulated along these meridians

Acupuncture

Is a therapeutic and preventative therapy often addressing:

  • Musculoskeletal discomfort and ailments such as arthritis
  • Chronic migraines and headaches
  • Allergies and asthma
  • Biliary colic and a whole host of other conditions
  • Digestive difficulties
  • Infertility
  • Morning sickness
  • Depression and anxiety

Overall, it is useful for decreasing inflammation, chronic pain and balancing hormones. It improves the body’s stress response and aims to balance the spirit, body and mind – addressing the person as a whole.

Facial Acupuncture

This technique focuses on the rejuvenation of the face. It stimulates microcirculation and promotes oxygenation to the local tissues; thereby energising, repairing and addressing all signs of skin concerns.

Reflexology

Is considered a specialisation of traditional Chinese massage that focuses on the feet and hands. Its basis is that pressure points in these areas correspond with internal organs and various tissues around the body. Stimulation of these points provokes a beneficial response – via the nervous system – of the corresponding organs.

Quantum Healing

Quantum Healing is an innovative, non-invasive healing approach that blends Eastern energy methods with Western physiology, providing effective painless healing. Quantum healing works by restoring balance to the body’s energetic field, allowing for a deeper level of healing on physical, mental, and emotional levels and more. Through this process, you can experience long-lasting relief from various conditions and other physical and emotional issues.
